COSB40: Contemporary South-East Asia - Political Developments and Societal Issues

Study Contemporary Southeast Asia in Lund! In this course we explore the most pressing issues defining contemporary politics and society in this dynamic and diverse region.

The course focuses on key questions that engage and shape contemporary Southeast Asia. It explores democratic, authoritarian, and populist trends and dynamics. You will be equipped to analyse and discuss the role of digital media, social movements and civil society, human rights, environmental issues, and land rights in the region. While the focus is on providing a deep understanding of regional developments, we also assess these in their global context.
