As part of their internship, the candidate will write an article, with feedback from researchers at the Centre, for submission to Asia in Focus (or equivalents). The candidate will also be responsible for day-to-day administration, such as social media management, organizing and participating in events.
As such, the candidate should have a strong interest and educational background in East and/or Southeast Asia. They should have completed an MA in Asian Studies and sign up for CÖSM50 internship course offered at the Centre. They should have proven writing, research, and analytical skills as well as familiarity with Asian contexts. The candidate should have good communication skills, be self-motivated, organized, and have basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Work tasks can include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Social media management
- Assist with event handling and planning, including seminars, webinars, workshops and conferences
- Development of the alumni network
- Participation in research seminars
- Promotion of the MA programme and BA courses within and beyond Lund
Working on the in-house journal Asia in Focus:
- Manage the email account
- Find suitable reviewers for submissions
- Research and submit a paper to the journal (or equivalent journal)
- Proof-read accepted-submissions
- Other tasks as relevant
