On 19 September we organized a seminar titled Why Area Studies Are Important: The Future of Asian Studies. At this event international scholars and scholars from Lund University and other academic institutions in Sweden will present their perspectives on the current situation and future of area studies, new approaches and projects, including transregional studies, as well as challenges for interdisciplinary studies and area studies. More information about this activity can be found here.

On 20 October, we held an open lecture titled "Asian Studies - a career for the future!" where we had invited three alumni from the Masters Programme in Asian Studies to come and talk about their experiences after graduating. This event was part of the  Lund University 350th Jubilee Alumni Homecoming Weekend.
