Welcoming new staff to the Centre

The Centre is welcoming two new staff in 2024.

Dr Macario Lacbawan who got his PhD in anthropology at Uppsala University will start a three-year postdoctoral position funded by the Swedish Research Council on 1 February. His research project addresses how the development of smart cities impacts the Aeta indigenous community in the Philippines. 

Dr Youngeun Koo who got her PhD in Korean Studies at the University of Tübingen and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University will begin her position as Associate Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Korean Society on 1 August. Her position is partially funded by the Korea Foundation, and her research addresses issues of international adoption and childcare policies.
