The article discusses China’s growing vegan, vegetarian, and flexitarian ‘dietary publics’ across online and offline foodscapes. The study combines digital food studies with onsite fieldwork, and foregrounds the work of an heterogeneous set of ‘plant-forward’ actors promoting food and lifestyle change by engaging in food education, promoting vegan food culture, encouraging food exploration, and supporting innovation in food technologies.
