Made in China Summer School

MIC summer school promo

The inaugural Made in China Summer School was held from 17 to 21 July, 2017 at the Venice International University campus on San Servolo—a small picturesque island situated in the Venetian Lagoon.

Over five intensive days, fifty-five participants engaged in lively discussions on issues related to Chinese labour, civil society, and rights at the Made in China Summer School. Presentations were given by over twenty experts in the field, including Professor Marina Svensson, Dr Stefan Brehm and Dr Nicholas Loubere of the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies, Lund University. Many of these presentations will be published as articles in forthcoming issues of the quarterly Made in China journal.  Plans are already underway for the second Made in China Summer School to be held in 2018. The topic and call for applications will be circulated in due course.
