Visualizing Asian Cities Photo Contest

Contest Rules

By entering the “Visualizing Asian Cities” Photo Contest, you agree and undertake to adhere to the present rules.


Processing of personal data

By entering the Competition, you agree and acknowledge that the Centre is permitted to receive and review your registration data. Participants agree that personal data including, but not limited to, name and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used during the purposes of conducting and administering the “Visualizing Asian Cities” Photo Contest.

At any time, participants have the right to access, review, rectify or cancel any personal data held by the Centre by sending an email to the following address: info [at] ace [dot] lu [dot] se

All photograph submissions:

  • Maximum of one photo per category.
  • Must have been taken by the participant between 1 January 2018 and 15 March 2019.
  • Must have obtained permission from each readily identifiable person in the photo(s) to use and/or reproduce for public display for the submitted photograph.
  • Must be in high-resolution digital format, 300 dpi, and should be no larger than 10 MB.
  • Must be renamed with the following file naming convention: FirstName_SurName_NameofPhoto.jpg.

Please note that digital manipulation of photos is considered acceptable.


Participant Copyright

By submitting a photo, the participant represents and warrants that he/she is the sole owner of copyright of the photo, has the right to provide Lund University with a license to publish the photo, title and description thereof in any medium (including, but not limited to, in a newspaper, a magazine, on a website, including on Facebook or any other social media etc.) and that the submission does not infringe the rights of any third party. In case any third parties make any claims, the participant shall be fully liable for his/her work.

The photographer retain his/her rights to the photograph; however, by entering the contest, the photographer grants Lund University a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any Lund University purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of the university. The Photographer will be credited wherever the image is used and crediting is feasible (depending on the media).


Obscene and Offensive Entries

No photo, title or description may contain words or images that, at Lund University’s sole judgment and discretion, are obscene, pornographic, violent, cruel, mean spirited, offensive in any manner, inconsistent with the reputation of Lund University in the marketplace, or in any other way unsuitable for publication.
