Marina Svensson has published a chapter in the volume The Heritage Turn in China: The Reinvention, Dissemination and Consumption of Heritage (Amsterdam University Press) edited by Carol Ludwig, Linda Walton, and Yi-Wen Wang.

The title of Marina's chapter is “Local Voices and New Narratives in Xinye Village: The Economy of Nostalgia and Heritage”. The book chapter builds on Marina's fieldwork in Xinye village since 2003. It addresses local history, the heritagization process and the actors involved, and how heritage is marketed and mediated in and through film.
