The Corona-crisis has started discussions on Chinese social media that have been quiet for a long time. Voices are now demanding freedom of the press, and the doctor exposing the virus to the world has been called a whistle-blower. This says Marina Svensson, Professor and Director at the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies at Lund University who talks about how China has dealt with the corona-crisis in a number of ways.
