Nicholas Loubere is an Associate Senior Lecturer in the Study of Modern China at the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies, Lund University. He completed his Ph.D. at the Department of East Asian Studies, University of Leeds, U.K. in 2015. From 2015 to 2016 he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Australian Centre on China in the World, Australian National University. Nicholas’ research examines socioeconomic development in contemporary China, with a particular focus on microcredit, rural finance and livelihood migration. He has published research articles in the Journal of Peasant Studies, the Journal of Co-operative Organization and Management, the Journal of Community Health, and is one of the editors of Understanding Global Development Research: Fieldwork Issues, Experiences and Reflections, published in 2017 by SAGE. Nicholas is also the co-chief editor of the website www.chinoiresie.info, and is co-editor of Made in China: A Quarterly on Chinese Labour, Civil Society, and Rights.
