Dr. Guo Xuetang was a visiting scholar at the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies, Lund University (from August 2006 to July 2007).
He is an Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and Deputy Director of Institute of International Politics at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. He holds a Ph.D. and a Master in international relations from Fudan University and East-China Normal University respectively. He has been a visiting scholar to the Program for International Studies in Asia of George Washington University. He is the co-author of Is China a Threat: Interpreting China Threat Theory (2004), and the editor of International Relations: Theory and Practice (2004).
His main areas of expertise are Chinese foreign policy and strategy, Sino-US relations and Asia-Pacific security. He has taught courses in International Political Economy, International Organization, Contemporary Sino-US relations, and American Foreign Policy at Tongji University. His current projects include Sino-EU Cooperation in Asian Security Affairs and The Oil Geopolitics in Central Eurasia and Chinese Foreign Policy.
