Study Asia in Lund!


The programme is interdisciplinary and aims to provide you with an advanced knowledge on contemporary issues in Asia together with the analytical and methodological skills to assess social, economic and political developments in the region. The programme permits you to specialise based on your regional, thematic, and disciplinary focus and to critically examine and discuss issues within the field of East and South-East Asia and South Asia.

A number of special courses are also offered providing in-depth knowledge on issues such as gender, religion and ethnicity, human rights and the environment. You will have the possibility to conduct fieldwork in Asia in collaboration together with universities in the region. This Master’s programme is unique in Europe, and provides an excellent foundation for postgraduate studies, as well as for work in government agencies, private firms and NGOs.

The application round for the programme starting in September 2010 is now closed for international applicants.

If you have applied to the Masters Programme in Asian Studies and come from one of the following countries:

Albania, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Kenya, Kosovo, Mali, Moçambique, Moldova, Rwanda, Serbia, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia

you can apply for the Guest Scholarship Program from the Swedish Institute.

The application deadline is March 11, 2010.
