Stefan Brehm is a research fellow at the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies at Lund University, Sweden since Jan. 2006. He studied Economics and Chinese at Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, Germany and Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei, Taiwan. He received a Diploma in International Economics from Tübingen University in 2002 and was a Ph. D. fellow at the post-graduate research programme "Global Challenges - Transnational and Transcultural Approaches" from 2002 to 2005. He defended his Ph. D. thesis on "Chinas Integration into a Global Financial Order" in 2005. He is currently pursuing two projects - one on interjurisdictional competition in Zhejiang province and a second on the role of universities in China's emerging regional and national systems of innovation.
